This original black and white photographic print, by photographer Edgar A. Cohen, shows a dirt road (now Hwy 1) meandering under a twisted oak tree. There are thistles and weeds on the shoulders and hills. See notes.

On back of the photo : Photographs (stamped) # 1816 Oak Arched over Bolinas Road (written in pencil) Edgar A. Cohen, Alameda, Cal.(stamped). Accompanying photos, 1993-245a-02 and 03, indicate that this was taken on Hwy1 at the first turn past the location of the present SB County Water District building which was also the site of the establishments (in order of history) of The Surf Club, The Red Whale, The Brig, The South Pacific Bar and Grill, The Over the Hill Bar and Grill and The World War II Bar and Grill (owned by Ted Dantz).
