Description:
View of the Upton Beach portion of Stinson Beach, looking south at the houses that bore the brunt of the 1983 storm. The first wooden structure sits at an angle on the sand, its windows empty. The red one-story house behind it has its windows boarded up. Beyond is a group of people, perhaps checking out the wreckage of Syd Boyle's house. Further on the houses seem to be in decent shape. Some white surf is visible on the left of the photo.
